ABOUT

I recreated the Sarvo 37 Dayboat, completely in blender. I wanted to portray the boat with minimalistic studio compositions.

This project represents a comprehensive 3D production pipeline, spanning from initial moodboarding and conceptual research to final rendering and post-production. The objective was to translate a complex marine design into a high-fidelity 3D model, ensuring a polished result through every stage of the workflow. Achieving this required a disciplined approach to modeling and a high degree of technical problem-solving, particularly when navigating the challenges of limited reference imagery. By accurately interpreting proportions and overcoming technical constraints, I was able to reconstruct the vessel's intricate forms while maintaining a professional standard of execution throughout the entire process.

I tracked the time spent on this project. I estimated a total of 69 hours, with most of it (24 hours) spent on modeling alone. I finished the project with a total of 73 hours and about 28 hours spent on modeling. I also put a lot of effort into the texturing, using a couple 8K tiled textures for the wood and metal.
